About Us

Born and bred in Yorkshire, my family have had touring caravans for a long time; I myself have been caravanning since I was born. I started out as a chef at my father's restaurant in Cowes in 1985, when I came to the Isle of Wight. The business was established in 2002 after a long apprenticeship with David Dobson at Specialist Engineering Service. In 1991, my family managed a caravan park in Wootton for some 17 years until 2008. The caravan knowledge and contacts have proved​ invaluable.

Today at Stephen Ward Caravan and Boats, we have established a business as an LPG Gas Engineer, offering mobile caravan repairs for new and old models, appliances, and certifications. All the main caravan and touring sites on the island, with many repeat customers and referrals. LPG gas work for caravans and boats for all the main manufacturers and companies. All makes of boilers and heaters.​

As a specialist in LPG boat work, I work with all the marinas on the island, many boat charter companies and sailing schools, and handle installations of new pipework systems, upgrades and renewals, cooker installations, cylinder locations and lockers, as well as surveyors' reports on gas installations and certifications.

Stephen Ward has been Gas Safe registered and Corgi registered since 2003 and is fully  insured.
